Difference Between IAS as well PCS Officers

A lot of times, IAS, as well as PCS officers, are often confused, and their roles appear to be the same. However, they’re not. President India appoints IAS officers. However, they are under the control of the State Government, whose cadre is allotted to them by the conditions in place. PCS officers are appointed by governors in the state directly and are totally under the supervision of their State Government. IAS officers are appointed by the Governor directly. IAS officer is given more influence over PCS officers in terms of PCS officer regarding paying as well as functions, powers, and operations since IAS officers have greater authority and functions. IAS officer is assigned to manage operations across India. A PCS officer is assigned to the state cadres to manage his particular state on his own.
